As part of an extended promotion of Mexico’s Buen Fin discount holiday – slated for the Friday, Nov. 16, though Monday, Nov.19 – the Premium Outlets Punto Norte shopping mall will be raffling an Audi A3 sedan to customers who spend at least 500 pesos between Sept. 12 and Nov. 21.

With more than 180 stores, the POPN mall is located just 25 minutes north of Mexico City and is open 365 days a year, starting at 11 a.m.

The Buen Fin (which literally translates to “Good Weekend”) sales period — Mexico’s answer to the United States’ post-Thanksgiving Black Friday mass sale — began in 2010 as a way to promote sales for local small businesses and is held each year during the Nov. 20 long weekend.

Nov. 20 is a national holiday that commemorates the conflict that constituted the start of the 1910 Mexican Revolution.

Originally, the Buen Fin weekend was a Mexico City initiative, but the idea soon spread nationwide, with more than 80,000 local businesses expected to participate in this year’s four-day sale.
