After more than 30 years as the official inhouse perfumier of Loewe, Emilio Valeros (who created such iconic scents as Loewe 7, Solo Loewe and Aura) retired earlier this year, leaving the luxury Spanish design house with a major void to fill.

But Loewe, which has been around 1846, has always managed to adapt to new demands and realities (the brand started off as a cooperative of leather artisans and later expanded to include clothing and fragrances), always maintaining its exquisite distinction of quality and refinement, while adjusting to contemporary styles and tastes.

And this time around was no exception.

Within a few months of Valeros’ departure, Loewe had a brand new master perfumier, Núria Cruelles (one of only a handful of female perfume-makers in the industry and one of the youngest perfumiers ever).

Last month, Loewe released Cruelles’ first fragrance creation, Aura Pink Magnolia (the name being a hat tip to Valeros’ original Aura, the brand’s bestselling feminine scent), inspired by the allure of a woman who is an artist’s muse.

Packaged in a subtle rectangular glass flask adorned with golden brushstrokes inside an understated carboard box that opens like a book, with the image of a single flower captured by the German early 20th century photographer Karl Blossfeldt on its face (Loewe’s new corporate look, as of 2018), Aura Pink Magnolia Eau de Parfum is a tribute to feminine mystery and sensuality.

Intense and haunting, Loewe Pink Magnolia’s unprecedented composition is 20 percent essential oils, so its floral-fruity aroma lingers far longer than most perfumes.

And breaking with the traditional fragrance progression, Cruelles has abandoned the conventional three-step evolution of the opening, heart and closing of a scent to create what Loewe has dubbed a circular structure, much like the natural aura each woman possesses.

The four auras of Pink Magnolia starts with an earthy musk that quickly expands into an intoxicating burst of Indian sandalwood.

The sandalwood gives way to a core of fresh red fruits that unfold into a soul of pink magnolia flowers.

All four scents intermingle to create a fluid perimeter of fragrance.

Loewe Aura Pink Magnolia, available in Mexico as of September, is fronted by Russian model Kris Grikaite.

Hair Perfection

Nashi, the Milan-based haircare line that has made unruly tresses and bad hair days a thing of the past, is now available in Mexico at selected salons across the nation.

Known for its three-step hair therapies that focus on revitalizing from the inside out, Nashi used four core natural ingredients to protect hair and keep it healthy and shiny.

The first ingredient, collagen, provides strength and elasticity.

Keratin protein protects hair cells at the follicle level against external damage and stress.

The third major Nashi ingredient, stem cells, act as antioxidants, rejuvenating hair to look brighter and more vibrant day after day.

And the final ingredient, elastin, gives hair resilience to keep its shape and natural style.

The Nashi line includes a purifying scalp and hair shampoo, a reconstructive conditioning treatment and a smoothing masque that leaves hair soft and disciplined.

And now, Nashi has a brand new collection of haircare products with natural argon to help give hair a boost of shine and manageability.

Suitable for all hair types, Nashi Argan’s premiere product is Nashi Argan Instant Hydrating Styling Mask, a spray-on, leave-in oil that repairs, repairs, nourishes and brightens all in one step.

This super light oil doesn’t weigh down your look, so your hair is full-bodied and radiant.

Nashi Argan Instant Hydrating Styling Mask can be used on either dry or wet hair and has a built-in UV ray protector.

There is also a Nashi Argan Shampoo, a Nashi Argan Spray Conditioner, a Nashi Argan Deep Infusion Masque (that can revitalize even the most seriously damaged hair in just seven minutes) and a Nashi Argon Hair Mist.

All Nashi products are made from 100 percent natural ingredients.
