Frank Devlyn, founder of Ópticas Devlyn and former global president of the International Rotary Club, died on Wednesday, May 27, at age 81, from complications resulting from a long battle with cancer.

Devlyn was a pillar of the English-speaking and international community in Mexico and an internationally recognized humanitarian who worked endlessly to help the underprivileged, provide free glasses to those in need and to sponsor vaccination drives throughout the world.

Raised in Mexico along the Texas border, Devlyn also served as the honorary consul of Jordan in Mexico and was awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year in Mexico in 2016.

Devlyn is survived by his wife, Gloria Rita Gómez de Devlyn, and three daughters, Melanie, Stephanie and Jennifer.
