The Weather Folks
By CHANA PERMAN
Rarely do I believe the weather folks;
To my mind, they relay all sorts of jokes.
Rain for three days, followed by hail?
Your forecasts tell a ludicrous tale.
Every second day, it’s precipitation,
On what do you base your observation?
Unless you are sharing tropical news,
I’ll ignore your yammering…
What do I have to lose?
Originally from New York City but currently living in Toronto, Canada, CHANA PERMAN is a Jewish poet, mother and learning strategies instructor.
