According to new data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mexico exported a record number of goods to the United States between January and May 2024.

Mexico reportedly exported $206.796 billion to the United States during the first five months of the year, a figure 6.2 percent higher than its annual export rate.

The nation also brought in $138.652 billion worth of U.S. imports – a 4 percent increase year-over-year – during the same period.

This placed Mexico at a $68.144 billion trade surplus with the U.S. between January and May 2024, a 10.8 percent annual increase.

With $345.448 billion in bilateral trade between the neighboring countries, Mexico retained its status as the top trade partner of the United States, ahead of Canada and China by tens of billions of dollars.
