Known globally for their bouillon cubes and dehydrated soups, Knorr, is now trying its hand at getting into the Mexican food record books, aiming to dish out the world’s largest pozole on Friday 13 September.

Pozole is a staple Mexican stew, typically made from hominy that has been slowly stewed with meat (usually pork), subsequently garnished with onions, radishes, and lettuce.

A part of Mexican cuisine since pre-Colombian times, many Mexican states lay claim to the dish with unique variations in colour and chilli blends.

For many Mexicans the dish is a staple of the Independence Day festivities, which this year leave a long weekend for parties, celebrations, and culinary overindulgence. It therefore comes as no surprise then that Knorr chose the Friday before this fête-filled-bash to try their oregano topped silver spoon.

If anyone can break this liquid record no doubt a soup company with presence in over 90 countries is the one to do it. We’ll see what happens and at the very least we know we’ll be well fed!
