PULSE NEWS MEXICO Republican Mayra Flores of Texas became the first Mexican-born woman to be sworn into the U.S. Congress on Tuesday, June 22. Flores, born in Burgos, Tamaulipas, before becoming a U.S. citizen, won a special election in Texas’ 34th Congressional District to fill the seat vacated by former Democratic Republican Filemon Vela earlier this month. This constituted the
