An Orphatec Tale

Missoni, the Milan-based design house of knitwear clothing and zigzag designs, has expanded into the fragrance sector, and several of its perfumes are now available in Mexico, exclusively at Palacio de Hierro.

In total, the label has 16 perfumes in its fragrance base, but for now, only a few are being sold in Mexico.

Every perfume is a sensual orphatec retelling of a romantic story created especially by the Missoni family, and each comes in an arty flagon with colorful rainbow Missoni designs that reflect the brand’s unique runway style.

The Missoni family has worked closely in collaboration with a wide variety of international perfumiers, including Maurice Roucel, Trudi Loren, Quentin Bisch, Tristan Brando and Enzo Galardi, to bring these wonderfully personal stories to life.

Headlining the collection in Mexico is Missoni’s latest creation, simply called Missoni.

This tantalizing floral, fruity, woody composition includes a trio of Italian citruses, opening with pear notes, followed by a rich heart of magnolia and Sambac jasmine.

The fragrance closes with notes of sandalwood, tonka beans and ambroxan.

Couture Meets Fragrance

Another high-end line of designer fragrances now available in Mexico (at Palacio de Hierro and Liverpool) is the Lalique brand, created by the French glassmaker and jeweler with the same name.

Because the very name Lalique evokes the brilliance and beauty of fine crystal, the brand’s fragrances are equally dazzling and alluring.

There are a number of scents to choose from, for both men and women, but the enduring sheen of the Lalique style prevails in all of these fragrances.

And each of these perfumes comes in a stunning crystal-like bottle that reflects Lalique’s obsessive devotion to art and design.

Rocking It Preciously

Dior’s new Christmas collection, titled Precious Rocks, is opulent and full of glitter.

The longwear collection (who has time for touchups when you’re partying the holidays away?) is as precious as a stunning gemstone, and will leave you splendidly radiant from day to night.

Designed by Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, the Precious Rocks collection plays with sophistication and daring kaleidoscopic impressions.

The focus this season is on lips, and the Precious Rocks range highlights a woman’s smile with a selection of bejeweled lipsticks (with a pencil point for outlining) that stand out in pure, prismatic shades.

And each lip shade has a matching, long-lasting nail polish to dazzle-up fingertips in Yuletide hues.

Dior Precious Rocks powdered blush is accented with hints of glitter to give shine and sparkle, and the five-shade eyeshadow pallete is composed of a spectacular array of pinks, golds and bronzes.

To complete the look, there is Diorific Precious Rocks Golden Glow Loose Powder that gives a beaming luminosity.

Precious Rocks celebrates a woman’s inner fire of brilliant jewels: unfettered, confident and individual.

Oxygenic Appeal

The French derma-cosmetic company Filorga has just introduced a daily-use Oxygen-Peel, a re-oxygenating, micro-peeling lotion that fights wrinkles, adds radiance, reduces the size of pores and helps even out skin tone.

Filorga Oxygen-Peel combats the daily deterioration and dulling of skin that results from exposure to pollution, stress, fatigue and smoking, and gives cells a boost of oxygen.

Taking inspiration from the brand’s own expertise in aesthetic medicine, Filorga has designed this at-home lotion to be suitable for all skin types.

The exclusive micro-peeling cocktail gently exfoliates skin and smooths wrinkles and pores, while hyaluronic acid rehydrates and plumps the skin.

Bio-active oxygen sensors promote cell oxygenation and reveal a fresh and radiant complexion.

L’Oréal Paris’ EverPure line of haircare products has always had a broad gamut of shampoos, conditioners, treatment masques and elixirs suited for every hair type.

And, now, virtually all of these products are sulfate-free and 100 percent botanical and vegan, which means that they are all natural and geared to nourishing your hair.

Moreover, each collection is naturally scented to create an aromatherapy spa effect in your shower every time you wash your hair.

The updated line includes an EverPure Volume collection, enriched with lotus flower to perfectly condition and refine fine, limp hair while infusing luminous shine and lasting volume.

There is also EverPure Moisture collection enriched with rosemary to richly replenish dry hair, an EverPure Repair and Defend line with goji to make hair three times stronger and to undo the damage caused by heat and chemical treatments, and an EverPure Frizz-Defy line with African marula oil to keep hair sleek and smooth in any weather.

And as an added bonus, L’Oréal has just introduced an EverPure 10-in-1 Elixir with Indian lilac botanicals that is suitable for all hair types and delivers the benefits of deep nourishment, hydration, shine, volumizing, strengthening, smoothing and color protection all in one product.

Floral Delights

And while you are focusing on natural products, check out Revlon’s latest addition to its Naté Naturals body splash range, Naté Natural Peach.

This fresh and fragrant body spray joins the brand’s other vibrant spritzes, that run the gamut from a juicy pink raspberry scent with a suggestion of jasmine flowers and a lush red fruits scent with a hint of roses to a saucy berry with white lily scent and a delectable lotus flower and lychee fruit variety.

All five splashes are enriched with skin-nourishing vitamin E and aloe vera to pamper and indulge.

And since they are all super-affordable, you can also use them to spray on your pillow or on a lampshade for a romantic and sensuous ambience.

The Big Chill

Winter is just around the corner, and the cold weather is already nipping at our heels, so Old Navy has gotten an early start on the release of its new winter collection.

From dressy matching mommy-and-me flannel dresses to bright, wooly sweaters over snuggly warm leggings in eye-popping colors, the collection is geared to making every outing a couture adventure.

The Christmas and New Year’s Eve items are especially festive and stylish, with plenty of sparkles and glitter to light up the holiday season.

Bright yellows and oranges give a colorful boost to classic and distressed denim basics, and crisp paisleys and florals help dress layered styles.

There are also plenty of faux suede jackets and accessories to jazz up your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
