This year’s exhibit will include winning works by more than 50 Mexican artists who participated in the 2017 Concurso de Fotografía Contemporánea de México, one of the largest number of participants ever to join in the competition.

The first FOCO MX competition was held in 2012, sponsored by the Mexican Film and Arts Foundation.

The annual competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers and is divided into two categories, works by artists between the ages of 18 and 34 and those age 35 and above.

The subject matter of the participating photographs can be nearly anything, including real or fictional scenes, but all the pieces are judged based on the artistic value.

Photographs can be taken either through traditional film techniques or digitally.

The Foto Museo Cuatro Caminos is located at Ingenieros Militares 77, in Lomas de Sotelo in Naucalpan de Juárez.

The FOCO MX exhibit will be open to the public through Aug. 12.
