A reminder to all, the Mexico City earthquake alarm system will be activated for a testing and drill at noon today, Monday, Aug. 6, followed by an announcement informing the public that it is just a test.
These tests were ordered by the city’s head of government José Ramón Amieva after 1,481 of Mexico City’s 11,000 loudspeakers failed to emit warning signals on July 19 during a quake.
The city government intends to conduct similar testing on the first Monday of each month.
