Mexico’s premiere Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernández and the Carlos Chávez School Orchestra will joint forces for a special one-night-only gala performance to mark the nation’s independence holiday in the main auditorium of the Palacio de Bellas Artes on Sunday, Sept. 16,

In addition to the music for the folklore ballet, the Carlos Chávez orchestra, under the direction of Eduardo García Barrios, will also perform works by Mexican composer Agustín Lara.

The ballet performance will include faithful rendition of pieces choreographed by the troupe’s founder, Amalia Hernández, including Revolución, Fiesta en Tlacotalpan and La danza del venado

Tickets for the event are available through Ticketmaster and run between 300 pesos and 1,180 pesos, depending on the seats.
