Mexico City’s 18th annual international Book Fair will open in the Zócalo in the Centro Histórico on Friday, Oct. 12.

This year, the region of honor for the 10-day fair will be the Caribbean, with a focus on both contemporary and classic works.

The book fair is part of an ongoing municipal government program to promote reading and bring affordable texts to underprivileged communities.
