The Italian Embassy in Mexico wants you to think pasta … and risotto … and pizza … and tiramisu —and just about everything else that the Bel Paese has to offer in the food department.

All this month, the embassy is sponsoring a That’s Amore Italian Love Food festival, showcasing the best of Italian cooking in Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende and Puebla, with the assistance of four leading Italian chefs flown in for the occasion.

The multifaceted festival opened with a cooking class with renowned Roman chef Sergio Daniele Spoletini at the Smeg home appliances showroom in Mexico City on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and will continue with a chef in tour gala dinner at the Hotel Belmont in San Miguel on Tuesday, Nov. 13, also hosted by Spoletini.

A second gala dinner with Spoletini, Daniel Priori and Guiseppe Di Bella is slated to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Rosewood Hotel in Puebla.

The following day, the same group of chefs, along with Alessandro Circiello, will be held at Mexico City’s El Mayor restaurant.

On Thursday, Nov. 22, Circiello will offer a class on Italian cooking at the Smeg showroom in Mexico City, followed by a master class taught by all four visiting chefs that evening.
