All that Glitters
By THÉRÈSE MARGOLIS
Here it is the end of October, and the Christmas and New Year holidays are right around the corner, and while the weather outside might be dark and gloomy, this is the season for you to shine.
Glittery makeup and gold jewelry can add oomph to your look, making your sparkle no matter how dull the climate.
Here are some new, holiday-worthy items to add to fashion and beauty repertoire.
High-End Italian Bling
Pomellato, the luxury Italian jewelry design house based out of Milan, just released its new fall/winter collection, now available in Mexico at Palacio de Hierro.

Handcrafted in pure gold by a team of 100 Italian master artisans, the new collection includes a new rose quartz Nudo group, which is both extremely feminine and sophisticatedly elegant.
Available in three sizes — small, classic and maxi — the rosebud-hued stones of the Nudo necklaces, bracelets and rings are set in rose and white gold and encrusted with brown diamonds.
The Nudo Deep Blue group incorporates stones with the vivid colors of the sea with semi-precious stones and minerals, in double-mounted settings.
The use of blue topaz, agate and and deep blue metamorphic lapis lazuli capture the ever-changing reflections of the Mediterranean.
There are also additions to Pomellato’s youthfully classic Brera group, with iconic brown and white diamonds adding sparkle and dimension to these wear-anywhere pieces.
Pomelatto’s Iconica group has been updated with the addition of rough-cut artisan diamonds and new, more distinguished designs for chokers, bracelets and earrings, and the Sabbia group encompasses a harmonious balance with nature, using essential shapes and hundreds of tiny stones.

Every stone has a unique irregular shape and size, so that they work together to capture the movement of light from all angles.
This season, Pomellato has added a moon-shaped diamond in a never-before-seen rectangular form.
The new collection also includes a reintroduction of the brand’s Orsetto, Pomellato’s cute little teddy bear, who is celebrating his 30th birthday this year.
As part of Pomellato’s ongoing commitment with the environment, the company now guarantees that all the gold used in its jewelry is from 100 percent sustainable sources.
Established in 1967, Pomellato was the first global luxury Italian fashion fine jeweler, and is known worldwide for its unconventional and colorful designs.

Mexican Shine
If your prefer Mexican designs, the Oaxaca-based jewelry house Oro de Monte Albán has just released its new Catrinas de Mi Corazón collection, just in time for the country’s annual Day of the Dead celebration.
Inspired by the rich cultural traditions of Oaxaca’s indigenous communities, the colorful Catrina pieces are handcrafted by local artisans under the supervision of Oro de Monte Albán master designer Ileana Rojas.
The new collection incorporates colorful stones in a beadwork style, as well as basket weaving patterns and iconic Day of the Dead images, such as skulls and owls.
The line includes pendant necklaces, bracelets and earrings in both gold and silver, and is decorated with zircons, copal wood and Mexican textiles.
Oro de Monte Albán is a 100 percent Mexican-owned company that has been in existence since 1943.

The fourth-generation, family-run enterprise prides itself on conserving the beauty of pre-Columbian art styles and handcrafting each piece of jewelry, so each piece is unique, a one-of-a-kind treasure.
Oro de Monte Albán is the only jewelry designer authorized by Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) to produce gold and silver reproductions of pre-Hispanic art.
Oro de Monte Albán jewelry and other designs by Ileana Rojas are available for sale at Oro de Monte Albán stores in Oaxaca and at the Monte Albán archeological site, as well at in the Asimismo boutique in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, and at The Shops Down Town at the Palacio de los Condes de Miravalle in Mexico City’s Centro Histórico.
They can also be ordered online at http://www.orodemontealban.com.
Endless Glow
No matter how sparkly your dress or jewelry may be, the shiniest element of your look should always be your face.

Revlon’s new Colorstay Endless Glow Liquid Highlighter is a pearly and prismatic skin illuminator that accentuates bone structure with an intense sheen.
Available in five shades — Citrine, Gold, Opal, Rose Quartz and Topaz — Endless Glow’s creamy, glide-on formula blends with any foundation color and stays put all day so nothing and nobody can outshine you and your natural glow.
Phat Beauty
And talking about your natural glow, make sure your complexion is flawless and radient by giving yourself an exfoliating facial.
Ole Henriksen, the high-end Danish skincare line, has a new Phat Glow Facial that instantly exfoliates and illuminate with polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) and birch sap.
Available at Sephora nationwide, along with the entire line of Ole Henriksen products, Phat Glow is a one-step, at-home facial that fights all major signs of aging, including large pores, wrinkles and dull skin.

The color-changing face mask transforms from pink to white and is gentle enough to be used multiple times a week.
Free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates, Phat Glow used PHAs (which are a much milder alternative to Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or AHAs, which can be too harsh on delicate skin) to help even skin tone and texture through chemical exfoliation.
The Nordic birch sap helps to hydrate and nourish skin, and pink bentonite clay helps clarify and renew.
The mask facial also is rich in chia seed oil, which helps nourish and plump skin with hydration, and cotton extract to soften.
Lemon, sugarcane, licorice root, chamomile and sandalwood extracts help condition skin.
And to keep that radiant glow going day-after-day, Ole Henriksen’s C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème delivers 24-hour hydration with three different types of vitamin C to firm, smooth and brighten.
