It might have been sheer coincidence, but what a coincidence it was!
The U.S. tactical gear and clothing store 5.11 opened its second store in Mexico City — and 19th nationwide — on Thursday, Dec. 5, just as U.S. Attorney General William Barr was meeting with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) to discuss bilateral security issues.
Based out of Irvine, California, 5.11, which started off in 1979 supplying apparel for the FBI, specializes in providing gear for people in the military, law enforcement and security industry.
The company plans to open another 19 stores in Mexico City over the course of the next 24 months.
