It’s springtime, at long last, and that means it’s time for a revamping of your entire beauty product arsenal.

Time to throw out those expired mascaras (you should never keep them longer than a month, and never, never share them since they can hold batería and lead to infections).

Time to switch from a heady oriental scent to a light, airy citrus or floral.

Time to stash away those heavy winter clothes and switch them out for summery breeze garments.

And time to institute a new (and serious) skincare beauty routine that, if you follow its faithfully (no blowing off cleansing your face at night because you are just too tired to bother), will give you a clean, wholesome complexion that is as fresh as springtime itself.

Naturally Resilient

The Peruvian-based, direct-sales, cosmetic and beauty brand L’Bel has just introduced its latest line of nature-based anti-aging skincare Bio Resist.

Made from 96 percent natural ingredients, the three-product line includes a super-gentle cleanser, a daily hydrating facial lotion (with a built-in SPF 30 to protect from UV rays) and a reparative night cream.

L’Bel’s unique Bio Resist formula, developed especially for Latino skin, contains more than a million natural proteins extracted from the Australian muntju plant to help stimulate collagen and hyaluronic acid productions, making skin more resilient and healthy.

The muntju plant (Nicotiana benthamiana, also known as benth or benthi) grows along the rocky hills and cliffs of northern Australia and has long been prized for its medicinal properties.

Muntju has been used for centuries by people across Oceania to treat irritated and inflamed skin, and is known to act as a barrier against dryness, since its proteins are very similar to those found in the human body.

Bio Resist also contains palm oil glycerin, soy, shea butter and olive, coconut and sunflower oils, to keep skin moist and protected all day long.

The three eco-conscious Bio Resist products have no silicones, paraben or artificial coloring, but are effective in reversing early signs of aging and providing all-day moisture,

Suitable for all ages and skin types, Bio Resist fights dryness, sagging, fine lines and dullness.

Artistic Nails

Pai Pai, the Mexican cosmetic brand inspired and illustrated by national artists, has launched its new spring collection, a sumptuously fresh array of Easter egg pastels, sky blues and boysenberry mauves.

Pai Pai, started seven years ago by two university friends, Karen Rodarte and Andrea Ibargüengoitia, makes only organic-based products, and all of its nail polished are free of toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, triphenyl phosphate (TPhP) and xylene (all chemicals commonly used in nail colors that have been linked to cancer and other health hazards).

Consequently, the entire line of Pai Pai polishes is good for you, good for your nails and good for the environment.

Zeus’ Passions

Mexican fashion designer Enrique Solano is gearing up for the release of his new haute couture spring/summer collection, an ensemble of 15 one-off evening and cocktail dresses.

The collection, titled Los Amores de Zeus (The Loves of Zeus), takes its inspiration from Greek nymphs and romantic passion, and is a continuation of Solano’s infatuation with a bygone era of glamour and sophistication.

The pieces are feminine and understatedly alluring, with soft, muted silvers and bronzes, antique jades, burnt burgundies and petal pinks in flowing ruffled silks and satins.

The sleek, classic gowns clearly bear Solano’s demonstrative tailoring, with strong shoulders from which fall sensuously fluid capes and halters with retro-elegant deep décolletages.

There is a red-carpet luxury feel to the collection that allow timeless classic silhouettes to take center stage, but daring side slits and barely-covered breasts make it undeniably clear that these ensembles are made for a woman in 2020.

Solano’s new collection will be available in select high-end boutiques across Mexico starting in late March.

Carlo by Night

Women are not the only ones who should revamp their image with the change of seasons.

And the Spanish luxury brand Carlo Corinto has just launched its new fragrance for men, Nuit.

A sensuous blend of fruits and woods, Nuit opens with a tantalizing blend of apples, mandarine and cardamom that burst into a hear of lavender, nutmeg and Italian orange flowers.

Designed for the man who always leaves an impression but never discloses the mysterious elements of his success, Nuit closes with a deep aura of amber, cedar and tonka beans.

Carlo Corinto Nuit is now available at Liverpool, Palacio de Hierro, Sanborns, Sears and Suburbia.
