Aeromar, Mexico’s fourth-largest commercial airline, announced on Wednesday, April 15, that it will offer free national flights to health care personnel throughout the Covid-19 contingency.
The campaign, called Héroes con Bata (Heroes in Lab Coats) will run through May 15, and the airlines will absorb the full cost, including taxes, of the first 100 requests presented by Mexican doctors, nurses and other health professionals who need to travel.
“In the face of this crisis, we must all join forces with one another to support the people of this sector, who are putting their lives at risk for everyone else,” said Aeromar CEO Danilo Correa during a small ceremony to announce the initiative.
Correa also pointed out that Aeromar is following strict international public health protocols to ensure the safety of all of customers and sky teams.
In order to qualify for the free Aeromar flights, medical personnel must scan a letter from the medical institution where they work, a copy of their professional licence or the place where they are employed and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The free tickets will only be applicable for existing flights and dates.
