U.S. Embassy in Mexico City issued a statement on Monday, Sept. 7, that it will accept in-persons drop-off of absentee voting materials starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, on days that the embassy is normally open, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The embassy requested that the absentee votes be brought completed, sealed and in a postage-paid envelope to the consular waiting room’s entrance on Rio Danubio and placed in the sealed ballot box with the ACS representative outside.

Absentee voters do not need to enter the embassy or pass through additional screening to submit their voting materials.

Those living outside Mexico City are advised to check with the nearest consulate for hours and ballot box details.

For more information about voting from Mexico, the embassy advised voters to visit the U.S. Mission to Mexico’s voting webpage and FVAP.gov.
