Mexico’s renowned Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería (OSM) will open its 2021 summer season on Saturday, July 3, and for the first time the concerts will be streamed live on the internet.

The season will include seven programs under the artistic direction of conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto, with works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Maurice Ravel and Serguéi Prokófiev.

The performances will also include music by four Mexican composers, Carlos Chávez, Silvestre Revueltas, Gutiérrez Heras and Leonardo Velázquez.

The OMS summer season will close on Aug. 15 with a gala performance of Joseph Haydn’s “Te Deum” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Requiem,” which will be dedicated as an emotional tribute to the victims of the covid-19 pandemic.
