With the return of the city’s prior yellow-light cautionary grade of covid-19 infections (after a brief reprieve of green), Mexico City educational authorities on Friday, June 18, announced the suspension of all face-to-face classes starting on Monday, June 21.

“Given the announcement issued by the  Public Health Secretariat … the Federal Educational Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM), all schools, both public and private, will suspend face-to-face,” the Public Education Secretariat (SEP) said in a press release late Friday. 

At least eight cases of covid have been reported in Mexico City schools since they reopened last month.
