Mexican journalist Abraham Mendoza Mendoza was murdered on Monday, July 19, in the parking lot of a gym on Madero Poniente Avenue in the city of Morelia, Michoacán, according to local police authorities.
According to witnesses, Mendoza Mendoza was surrounded by his attackers and shot at point-blank range as he was leaving the gym, located in the city’s Bocanegra neighborhood.
It was also reported that a bystander was injured by a stray bullet.
The state police later arrested the main suspects in the attack, who tried to escape aboard a white SEAT Ibiza car that was presumably also stolen.
