Africam Safari, Mexico’s premiere open-air animal park just outside of Puebla, announced the birth of its first Caribbean flamingo chick of the season on Sunday, Aug. 1.

The tiny flamenco chick was hatched on July 26, after 31 days of incubation and has currently weighs 136 grams. (The normal incubation period for a Caribbean flamingo is 27 to 31 days.)

Flamingos are born with a white color, but their hue begins to as they age due to their diet, and by the time they are a year old, their plumage is a beautiful pink color.
