After testing positive for covid-19, former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quesada, who was in office from 2000 to 2006, and his wife Martha Sahagún were hospitalized on Saturday, Aug. 7, to treat the illness.
Both Fox and his wife are reportedly stable with no serious symptoms. The former first couple of Mexico had already completed their full vaccination against the virus at the time of infection.
“Fortunately, they are stable and in good spirits,” said his family in a statement.
Fox is the second former president of the country to come down with covid-19 after Felipe Calderón, who extended Fox and his wife his best wishes for a speedy recovery via Twitter.
