After 12 days of events in Tokyo, Mexico’s efforts in the 2020 Paralympic Games earned the country 22 medals and a place as one of the top 20 winningest nations inthe competition.

Mexico left Tokyo with seven gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals, the best the country has performed in the Paralympics since earning 34 medals in Athens during 2004.

Prior to the games, Mexico had a goal of reaching more than 300 total earned medals for the country throughout all its Paralympic efforts upon the completion of this iteration of the games, which it accomplished, leaving Tokyo with 311 medals in Mexico’s historical total.
