Mexican racecar driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez finished third place in the Turkish Grand Prix Formula 1 competition on Sunday, Oct. 10.

At the Turkish Grand Prix, Checo Pérez scored more points than in any other Formula 1 season.

In 2020, Pérez finished fourth in the Drivers’ World Championship, opening the door for him to reach the second-best team in that category this year, Red Bull.

Pérez still has six more races ahead of him to extend his record, including in Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, the last date of the tournament.

The next race, the United States Grand Prix, is slated to be held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 24.
