El Chapo’s Wife Get Three-Year Sentence in US

Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of infamous drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman, was sentenced to three years in a U.S. federal prison on Tuesday, Nov. 30, for her alleged involvement in her husband’s Sinaloa Drug Cartel.
The 32-year-old Coronel Aispuro, a former teenage beauty queen, had pleaded guilty on three federal counts, including money laundering.
At one time, the Sinaloa Cartel was allegedly responsible for supplying at least 80 percent of all illicit drugs in the United States, according to U.S. federal law enforcement officials.
