Despite having confirmed one day earlier that he had contracted the covid-19 virus for a second time, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) made a cameo appearance on the daily presidential press conference on Tuesday, Jan. 11, via a video.

On the video, AMLO reported that he was feeling generally well, with only mild symptoms such as a sore throat, hoarseness and body pain.

He said that he is taking paracetamol and will not need hospitalization.

Public Health Secretary Jorge Alcocer, who attended the press conference live, said that AMLO’s symptoms should not last more than a week and he could return to work as early as next Monday.
