An early morning, 5.7-magnitude earthquake sent nervous Mexico City dwellers scrambling to the street and interrupted President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s (AMLO) daily press conference at the National Palace on Thursday, March 3.
The quake, which hit a few minutes before 9 a.m., had its epicenter in the coastal state of Veracruz, and seismic alarms went off shortly before it began rocking buildings in the Mexican capital.
The press conference of López Obrador was suspended after the activation of the seismic alert.
