In order to replace a valve in along the Ecatepec Aqueduct that feeds the capital’s water supply, Mexico’s National Water Commission (Conagua) on Thursday, March 24. temporarily suspended fresh water service to three Mexico City municipalities, Venustiano Carranza, Gustavo A. Madero and Azcapotzalco.

The repair work began at 8 a.m. and lasted into the night, causing families in the areas to scramble for potable water for more than 14 hours.

Low pressures are expected continue through Friday, March 25, along with a reduction of service hours in the affected municipalities, Conagua said.
