Contemporary Dance Troupe Marks 30th Anniversary with Gala Performance

A gala dance performance of Mexico’s Aksenti dance troupe, directed by Detroit-native Duane Cochran, will be presented at the main auditorium of Mexico City’s Fine Arts Palace on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

The performance, titled “Traces D1 History,” will mark the 30th anniversary of independent contemporary dance company, which skyrocketed to fame as winner of Mexico’s National Fine Arts Institute’s (INBA) National Dance Award in 1991.

The performance will be held inside the main auditorium of the Fine Arts Palace, located on Avenida Juárez in Mexico City’s Centro Histórico, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at 80 pesos (with discounts for teachers, students and INAPAM cardholders) and run up to 250 pesos for a private opera box. They can be purchased on line through Ticketmaster or at the door.
