The German sportswear brand Puma and Mexico’s Coppel department stores have just signed Grammy-nominee Paty Cantú as their new brand ambassador.

As part of the first-ever Coppel Sneaker Fest, Cantú met with fans at the chain’s Oceanía Shopping Mall in Mexico City on Thursday, Aug. 11, to present Puma’s latest sports shoe designs and to talk about how both Puma and Coppel have worked toward promoting women and creating a more inclusive society, themes that Cantú said are close to her heart.

Best known for her international smash hit “Afortunadamente No Eres Tú,” Cantú, who has also extended her curriculum to include acting, rose to fame as one of the founding members of the successful Mexican pop duo Lu.

In 2009, she was nominated for two Mexican Grammy Awards for breakthrough artist of the year.
