American Benevolent Society Reinstates Tai Chi Classes

After a two-year hiatus due to the covid-19 pandemic, Mexico’s American Benevolent Society (ABS) announced Monday, Aug. 22, that it will be reinstating its weekly tai chi classes starting Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The classes, which will be taught by Taoist tai chi instructor Tere Ríos, will be offered every Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the gardens of Christ Church, located at  Montes Escandinavos 405 in Mexico City’s Colonia Lomas de Chapultepec.

There will be a cost for the classes, to be paid directly to the instructor, of 500 pesos a month.

Taoist tai chi is a low-impact series of gentle physical exercises and stretches intended to reduce stress and promote inner tranquility..

Introductory free classes will be offered in September and October.
