If you are stuck for something to do this summer, and even into fall, consider taking a staycation at the W Mexico City.
Not only is the hotel, part of the Marriott International chain, one of the hottest spots to dine or have a drink in the heart of one of the most dynamic parts of the Mexican capital, but the trendy W staff has whipped up a series of oh-too-cool sunny season activities for its guests to get moving in the swing of Mexico’s urban swank.
To kick off the summer, the W hosted its first-ever Full Moon Party under the stars on Friday, July 15, with the rocking sounds of latino pop, setting the night on fire with an open bar of Mezcal Creyente to release the attendees lunar spirits, and a brood of makeup artists on hand to help each guest put on an interstellar face for the occasion.
Then, on Saturday, July 30, the W hosted a fresh and fit “Detox, Retox, Repeat” health day led by fitness expert Manuel Pascal, and tips on healthy dining from the hotel’s head chef.
On Friday, Aug. 19, the hotel organized a tourist day, showcasing local artisans and presenting ecotourism options near Mexico City.
And to make certain that no one was left out of the hotel’s summer-of-fun adventure, the W hosted a super-inclusive Queer Me Out night on Friday, Aug. 26, dedicated to Mexico’s LGBTQ+ community, with a sumptuous sampling of mezcal cocktails.
But while classes are starting back up and summer is set to officially end with the fall equinox on Sept. 21, at the Hotel W the good times will keep on rolling well into the autumn months.
As part of its endless summer program, the hotel will have a GQ and Glamour beauty market from Sept. 8 through Sept. 11, and will honor Mexico’s national independence with a Little Mermaid bazar on Sept. 15.
