Homemade Bomb Explodes in Mexico City’s Santa María de la Ribera District

A homemade pipe bomb exploded in a police station in Mexico City’s up-and-coming Colonia Santa María la Ribera on Saturday, Sept. 3, causing minor injuries to local police officers.
The capital’s Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported that the explosion at the Ricardo Flores Magón police station left two officers injured and damaged windows and furniture.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to assess the situation, while firefighters inspected the site for further damages.
The city government is conducting an investigation into the bombing, but, so far, no one has been arrested and the reason for the bombing remains unknown.
