Carpe Diem

By CHANA PERMAN

Blink

And you might miss it

A sacred slice of time

(Perhaps you’ll best understand

as I share my thoughts in rhyme)

You could’ve

You should’ve

You would’ve

Yet when will the moment arrive?

Grab your chance today

While blessedly alive

Blink

And you might miss it

That gesture you’ve postponed

Do it now, now, now

(It can only come from you, and you alone)

Blink

And you might miss it

Sunset’s parting rays

There will never ever be

Another one like this day

Today

Keep your eyes wide open

There’s much to see and do

Precious gifts to seize

Custom designed for me and you
