L’Chaim!

By CHANA PERMAN

A drink, a drink

I require one right now

So many to choose from

(Wiping sweat from my brow)

Iced cappuccino

But lactose does not love me

Diet peach Snapple

Nay to caffeine in my tea

Orange or apple juice

The bottles looks meh

Coke or Pepsi perhaps

The nutritionists say feh

Pellegrino or maybe Perrier

I need something feistier in my day

So many to choose from

I need a therapist to discuss

The endless drink options

The drama! The fuss!

Still I better choose

I’m turning pale

I’ve made my decision

L’chaim! Ginger ale!
