In a new day of violence for the Mexican border town of Nuevo Laredo, the military killed seven gunmen on Wednesday, Dec. 7, all presumed members of the Northeast Cartel (CDN), in shootouts in various parts of that Tamaulipas city.

All the armed confrontations occurred along a segment of the Nuevo Laredo-Monterrey highway.

The area was later cordoned off by the soldiers, who seized four vehicles and weapons from the gunmen.

Last week, Nuevo Laredo experienced a situation of extreme violence, when one of the alleged criminal leaders of the CDN was arrested, which unleashed a wave of confrontations, blockades and burning of vehicles.
