The coastal city of Zipolite, Oaxaca, is slated to host the Mexican Nudist Federation’s (FNM) eighth annual bear-it-all weekend from Thursday, Feb. 2, through Sunday, Feb. 5.
The largest nudist event in the world, the four-day FNM will open with a carnival-style parade by locals and visitors alike, along with a live concert of traditional Mexican music.
The festival will also include a display of regional dances, yoga classes, a nudist marathon, beach-volleyball competitions and a body-painting workshop.
The Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat said Friday, Jan. 13, that an estimated 1,200 nudists from 25 states of the country and 16 nationalities are expected to attend.
The FNM’s previous nudist festivals were also held in Zipolite, which is a small beach community located between Huatulco and Puerto Escondido.
Zipolite is known for being one of the few beaches where nudity is permitted in Mexico.
The FNM nudist festival is open to all.
However, local authorities have warned that anyone who is caught engaging in sexual intercourse on the public Playa de Amor beach will be charged and forced to serve with community work.
