One of Europe’s most acclaimed ballet troupes, the Moscow State Ballet, also known as the Bolshoi Ballet, is slated to perform “Swan Lake” at Mexico City’s Pepsi Center WTC on Sunday, March 12.

The stunning fairytale ballet, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1876, will be performed with a contemporary choreographic interpretation led by the troupe’s director, Liudmila Titova.

The classic “Swan Lake” ballet, which has traditionally been a hallmark of Russian culture and which has more recently become a subtle symbol of protest against Moscow’s illicit invasion of Ukraine, was Tchaikovsky’s first ballet score and famously paved the way for his later career in theater arts.

The romantic storyline of “Swan Lake” revolves around the doomed affair of Prince Siegfried and the beautiful swan Odette.

There will be two performances of the two-act ballet at the Pepsi Center, located at Dakota S/N in Mexico City’s Colonia Nápoles, on March 12, one at 1 p.m. and one at 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the door.
