Winter

Winter perched on her icy throne
The cold seeps into my very bones
I wonder as I meander alone
Stay awhile or return back home?
I waver between the latter and former
Dreaming of the day when it shall become warmer.

Originally from New York City but currently living in Toronto, Canada, CHANA PERMAN is a Jewish poet, mother and learning strategies instructor. She holds a Master’s Degree in special education, and has worked in that field for 25 years.
