The Italian crossover operatic-pop trio Il Volo announced a new album of Latin American songs on Monday, Feb. 20, during a press conference in Mexico City at the start of a two-month tour of the region.

The new album, titled “Tres Voces, Un Alma” (“Three Voices, One Soul”) includes a selection of Mexican and other Latin American pop songs, as well as a modern interpretation of Mexican mariachi music performed with a local mariachi group.

The album, which is timed to coincide with Il Volo’s Latin American tour — their first live tour in four years — will only be distributed in the region.

The group, composed of baritone Gianluca Ginoble and tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, arrived in Mexico on Sunday, Feb. 19, and will fly to Guatemala on Tuesday, Feb. 21, to kick off their Latin American tour.

They will return to Mexico in mid-March to offer a concert at Mexico City’s National Auditorium on Tuesday, March 21, followed by performances in Monterrey on March 22 and Guadalajara on March 23.

Since their founding in 2009, Il Volo has released a total of 10 albums.

Tickets for their concerts in Mexico can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
