The Mexican government will hold a nationwide earthquake drill at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19.
The drill will be prompted by an alarm going off, which is the same alarm that is supposed to ring moments before a major quake occurs.
Everyone is expected to participate in the drill by evacuating their buildings via stairs.
Mexico is considered to be a high-risk nation for seismic activities and suffered two major devastating quakes in 1985 and 2017.
Coincidentally, Mexico City registered a real 5.1 magnitude quake 12 hours earlier late Tuesday, April 18, just before 11 p.m., with its epicenter 36 kilometers northeast of Técpan, Guerrero.
The earthquake alarm did not go offer prior to that quake.
