At least 10 people were detained by authorities on Monday, March 7, in connection with their involvement in a brawl between opposing team fans at a soccer match in Queretaro over the weekend, according to that state’s Prosecutor’s Office.

The detainees, all men, were arrested for alleged acts of violence during the Querétaro versus Atlas match at Queretaro’s Corregidora Stadium on Saturday, March 5, during which at least 26 people were injured.

In a written statement, the Prosecutor’s Office said that, based on evidence in videos of the brawl, 21 arrest warrants have been issued so far.

Lupita Murguía, head of Queretaro’s Secretariat of the Interior, added that the identification of the subjects was achieved thanks to the analysis of nearly 400 videos filmed by spectators, as well as of items of clothing collected from the victims.
