Falling just one day short of Mexico’s National Independence Day celebrations, the monthly general meeting of the International Women’s Club (IWC) on Wednesday, Sept. 14, will spotlight the nation’s history and the importance of the country’s 1810 independence from Spain.

The meeting, which is open to both members and nonmembers for a nominal fee, will be held at Union Church, located at Avenida de la Reforma 1870 in Colonia Lomas de Chapultepec, starting at 10:30 a.m.

As always, the meeting will include a raffle with prizes donated by IWC sponsors.

Raffle tickets are 50 pesos each or five tickets for 200 pesos.

Founded in 1977 as the Newcomers Club, the IWC is a nonprofit social and service organization made up of mostly foreigners living in Mexico.

Membership is open to all.
