A 23-year-old Mexico City woman was mauled to death by her two pet pit-bull dogs on Friday, March 24, in her Álvaro Obregón home, authorities reported the following day.
Police were alerted by neighbors of the woman, whose name was not released, of screams coming from her Prolongación third-floor apartment late Friday night, shortly before midnight.
The woman was taken to a hospital, but physicians were unable to save her from the fatal wounds delivered by the dogs.
The neighbors reportedly said that the dogs had been overly aggressive in the past, having attacked other people in the apartment complex.
The blocky-head pit bull is known for its aggressive behavior and killing-instinct bite force, and is often bred for dogfights.
