Seven Mexicans are on the list of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) top 10 most-wanted fugitives.
On that list are Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada García, leader of the Los Mayos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel; Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera, who head up Los Chapitos of the fragmented Sinaloa Cartel; and Los Chapitos operatives Liborio Núñez Aguirre, Carlos Omar Félix Gutiérrez and Silvano Francisco Mariano, who are in charge of the preparation, trafficking and distribution of fentanyl within the United States.
According to DEA authorities, through extreme violence, corruption and extortion, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel has increased its presence in Mexico, engaging in turf battles throughout the country and constantly expanding its territory and control, as have the various factions of the Sinaloa Cartel.
