As part of its ongoing program to promote its first-ever Mexico edition — due out early this year — the Michelin Guide will be sponsoring yet another pop-up offering of a world-renowned Michelin star chef in Mexico starting next month.

Chef Alberto Ferruz — who has been awarded two Michelin stars for his BonAmb restaurant in Javea, Spain, and one star for his Casa Pepa restaurant in Ondara, Spain — will be offering a special tasting menu of his own interpretation of Oaxacan-Mediterranean cuisine at the Casa Bonita Hotel’s Tequio restaurant in Oaxaca City starting on Feb. 8.

Using local ingredients and backed by a team of 10 Spanish personally trained sous chefs, as well as regional chefs from Oaxaca, Ferrus will showcase both Mexican and Mediterranean cookery Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The pop-up Michelin star festival is slated to run through May 5, and tickets can be purchased in advance through the Michelin Guide webpage.

The Michelin Guide is considered to be the premiere gastronomic and hotelery handbook for gourmet food and luxury establishments worldwide.

It will include a 2024 Mexico edition with restaurants from five different regions of the country, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Baja California, Nuevo León and Los Cabos.
